| A mated, marked queen selected from strong genetic lines proven to survive New England winters. Each queen comes housed in a queen cage with attendant bees and is marked with a special ink color and pattern for easy identification. These queens are bred for excellent brood production, gentle temperament, and strong colony growth. Ready to be introduced into a queenless hive or new colony. |
| Important Information About Your Queen Pickup |
| At Bella’s Hives, we provide high-quality, mated queens selected for their strength and reliability. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the pickup date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of the pickup date are non-refundable. Queens are delicate and must be handled with great care; once picked up, their care becomes the customer’s responsibility. Bella’s Hives cannot offer refunds or exchanges after pickup except in the case of verified queen failure. If you experience queen issues within 60 days after pickup, bring the queen back alive and we will replace her free of charge. During transport, keep the queen cage cool, shaded, and ventilated, and never leave it in a hot vehicle or direct sunlight. Please make sure to read our Terms and Conditions before placing your order. If a queen is not picked up on the scheduled date, we may not be able to offer a refund or replacement. |
| Tips for Beginners |
| Introducing a new queen is an exciting part of beekeeping, but it requires patience and care. Always install the queen into a queenless hive, giving the bees time to adjust to her scent. Place the queen cage between two frames of brood or near where bees are clustering, and allow the bees to release her naturally over a few days. Never rush the introduction — forcing the queen out too soon can cause the bees to reject or harm her. Keep the hive well-fed during the introduction period to reduce stress.
