Bella’s Hives – Terms and Conditions

1. Overview

By accessing or using this website and placing orders with Bella’s Hives, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing your order.

2. Order Placement and Pickup Only Policy

  • All orders placed through our website are pickup only.
  • We do not ship any products at this time.
  • Orders must be picked up at one of our designated locations near Milford, Bellingham, or Mendon, Massachusetts.
  • You will receive an email or text message with pickup instructions and details once your order is ready.
  • We will try to arrange pickup at the location most convenient to you, but availability is not guaranteed.

3. Payment Policy

  • We accept both online payments and payment at pickup for general products.
  • Customers can pay online using credit/debit card, PayPal, Google Pay, or other available methods at checkout, or choose to pay in person when picking up non-live bee products.
  • Live Bee Orders (Bee Packages, Nucs, and Queens):
    • Immediate online payment is required at the time of ordering.
    • Live bee orders cannot be paid at pickup.
    • Due to high demand and limited availability, payment must be completed during checkout to reserve your live bee order.
    • Important: If you mistakenly select "Pay at Pickup" for a live bee order and receive an order confirmation, your order will not be valid and will not be processed until full payment is received. Live bee orders are reserved only after full payment is made.

4. Live Bee Orders (Bee Packages, Nucs, and Queens)

  • Live bee orders are final and non-refundable.
  • All bee packages include a marked queen by default. Unmarked queens are not available.
  • Bee pickup dates are announced on our website and/or social media. It is the customer's responsibility to stay informed.
  • Bee packages, nucs, and queens must be picked up on the scheduled date — no refunds, exchanges, or credits will be issued for missed pickups.

Cancellation Policy for Live Bees:

  • Bee packages, nucs, and queens are living products reserved specifically for you.
  • All sales are final once the order is placed — no cancellations, refunds, or exchanges are permitted within 30 days before the pickup date, on the pickup date, or after the pickup date.
  • If an order is canceled more than 30 days before the scheduled pickup date, a 50% cancellation fee will apply to the total order amount.

5. Returns and Refunds

General Product Returns

  • Returns are accepted within 15 days of pickup for unused items in “like new” condition.
  • A 5% restocking fee applies to all returns paid with any method other than cash, including debit or credit card payments, to cover non-refundable processing costs.
  • Return approval and credit issuance are subject to inspection.
  • Customers are responsible for bringing returned items to a pickup location — we do not accept mailed returns.

Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns on:

  • Live bees (packages, nucs, queens)
  • Protective clothing, including suits, jackets, gloves, and veils
  • Feed and consumables
  • Medications and chemicals
  • Books or printed materials
  • Personal care items
  • Custom printed or made-to-order items

6. Queen Bee Guarantee

If your queen is found to be a non-layer or drone layer within 60 days of pickup, and you return her alive, we will provide a free replacement. Evidence may be required. No replacements are made after 60 days.

7. Order Confirmation and Inspection

  • You will be notified by email or text when your order is ready for pickup.
  • Please inspect your order at the time of pickup. Discrepancies must be reported before leaving the pickup site.
  • Once the order leaves our possession, we are not responsible for damage, loss, or errors.

8. Communication and Consent

  • By providing your phone number or email address at checkout, you consent to receive order updates and promotional offers from Bella’s Hives via phone call, text message, or email.
  • To opt out of text messages, simply reply “STOP” at any time.
  • To unsubscribe from emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email or contact us directly.

9. Sales Tax

  • Sales tax is collected in accordance with Massachusetts law, unless a valid sales tax exemption certificate is on file.
  • Exemption certificates must be submitted and confirmed by Bella’s Hives before the order is finalized.
  • We cannot retroactively refund sales tax after the order has been picked up.

10. Special Orders

  • Special orders must be prepaid and may be subject to cancellation charges if the order is changed or canceled after confirmation.
  • Special orders are not refundable once prepared.

11. Liability Disclaimer

Bella’s Hives provides no warranty beyond the manufacturer’s product descriptions.

Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.

We are not responsible for:

  • Misuse or improper installation of our products
  • Weather, travel, or transport-related damages once items leave our possession
  • Compliance with local or state regulations

12. Errors and Omissions

We strive for accuracy, but we are not responsible for typographical errors, pricing mistakes, or content inaccuracies. We reserve the right to correct such issues without notice.
